Gel Strong-Acid Cation-Exchange Resin as Catalyst
in Boosting Inorganic Reactions Induced-by Na+ or H+
PRODUCT DATA SHEET:
KP-008 is a gel strongly acidic cation exchange resin type catalyst of the sulphonated polystyrene series, generally as the initiator for catalyzing inorganic reactions or organic synthesis allowing traces of organics retained. Owing to its uniform and solid structure and low swelling rate after reversible ionic replacement reactions, this resin remains perform with strong resistance to osmotic shock.
In addition to its excellent physical &chemical stability and thermostable performance, KP-008 is structured with fine crosslinked porosity and quite intense granular strength, which enables its exclusivity of organic molecules without blocking resin pores neither interfering the reaction compositions. KP-008 can be either directly used in inorganic reactions involving sodions(Na+) where demineralization and catalysis are required. Alternatively, it can also be used in organic reactions where acids are engaged, and also small amounts of organics are required to retain for synthesis while not plugging the pores. Such typical application scenario can be in esterification reactions when KP-008, after transforming form Na+ into H+, releases plenty of H+ into the solutions of organic reactions that require H+ to be initiated, by exchanging necessary cations within solution if any. In such way of exchanging ions as the initiating agent, KP-008 potentially increases the amounts of H+ within solutions and so catalyzing the process of the reactions.
Taking advantage of its exemption from adsorbing organic composition, this premium resin model KP-008 is hereby most suitable for drug-synthesis, cosmetic production, chemical engineering when certain organics of are required to be retained without affecting reactants composition, and most importantly, more hydrogens are needed to expedite a great deal of synthesis yield. Moreover, it is also applicable in catalyzing F&B processing in which color and odor are allowed to be kept while desalting, softening or deashing remain required.
